The Ministry of Education recognizes the need to take direct responsibility for the management of education data, both for the purposes of internal policy and decision-making making as as well as for the use by a growing number of stakeholder groups. Indeed, in the context local and regional data requests, as well as the Ministry’s involvement in the international community and its collaboration with agencies like the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to ensure alignment with that organization’s International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED), the Ministry’s direct role in statistical reporting cannot be overstated.
